Twistout Using Curls Products

Samples, Samples, Samples

A couple weeks ago I contacted a few natural hair brands that I was interested in and asked them if they would send me samples to review. The ever so generous Curls Brand was nice enough to send me two samples to review, and I used them for a twist out. The two products that I was sent were the Cashmere Curls Leave-in Conditioner and the Cashmere Curl Jelly.

Cashmere Curls Leave-In Conditioner: It has a slightly fruity smell and a very liquid-y consistency. If it hadn't been sent to me it probably wouldn't have been something that I would have picked up, because I wouldn't have though that i was moisturizing enough for my 4a/3c hair. However I was pleasantly surprised  because the next morning my hair was shiny and moisturized.

Cashmere Curls Jelly: This styler is recommended for type 4 ladies, it claims to smooth and elongate your kinks and turn them into curls. I actually had been wanting to try this product for wash and go's, but because of the cold weather it was used to give hold to my twists.

1. I separated my hair by sections and applied the leave -in conditioner to my damp hair.
2. Then I applied the curl jelly section- by section as I made twists.
3. I let them air dry for about a half- hour then I put my satin cap on ant went to sleep.

4. The next morning I applied olive oil to my twists and took them down

My results were awesome! My hair was defined ,shiny, soft, and surprisingly moisturized. At night I simply re-twisted my hair and spritzed it with a little water. On day four I did notice white flakes in my hair from the product. Would I purchase? Maybe. If I purchased these products I know that I would be using them for a wash and go because they have great slip and seem perfect for that style. But over all I had a good experience with my Curls samples. Once again I would like to thank Curls for sending them to me.

Until next time,

Braid Out Results

Braid out Routine.

Hey everyone I'm back and here to show you my braid out and the results I got! Most of the time I love to do wash and go's because I just love the way they they look. However, during the colder months I do braid outs to retain length and to hold moisture in my hair.I also play basketball so its nice to keep my hair stretched so I can put it in a puff.

There were about 20 braids on my head
Shampoo: Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Moisture retention Shampoo
Conditioner: Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Conditioner
Leave-In: Shea moisture curl and style milk
Sealant: Shea Butter and Extra virgin olive oil
Next day: Apply coconut oil and take down
(Rollers can be used on the ends for more curl!)

This is fourth day hair that I re-braided to maintain the style. On my wash day I originally applied Shea moisture deep treatment mask, but since I moisturize every other day that product would be to heavy to do so. That's when I use my curl and style milk. If your hair is long enough you may not have to re-braid your hair every night, but simply put it in a pineapple.

Results: Soft, shiny, Moisturized and defined hair!!

Let me know what you all think!

My 2012 Fall/Winter Products for Natural Hair:

Hey, I'm back and here to show you all a FEW of my favorite natural hair products for Fall/Winter.
(Left to Right)

P.S. check out my youtube channel TeenageNaturalista!

Carols Daughter Healthy hair butter: Great for braid outs and twist outs. This product provides great hold, shine, and moisture. This product sounds to good to be true right! Well it is:( Unless you enjoy the very strong scent of lavender and Lemongrass I wouldn't suggest this product and because of that reason i will not be repurchasing.

Coconut Oil: This is a great curl refresher! I also use this to instantly add shine to any hairstyle.

Olive Oil: ENOUGH SAID lol

Shea Moisture Curl and Style Milk: My absolute favorite glycerin free hair moisturizer.

Kinky Curly Knot Today: In my opinion this leave-in is over hyped, however it is very moisturizing, and provides great slip.  Right now I'm rotating it with my Giovanni Direct-leave-in, which works just as good, and is cheaper but contains protein. But if you are protein sensitive I recommend shelling out the extra bucks to get Kinky Curly because it its protein free.

Herbal Essences Hello Hydration:  THIS IS THE BEST CO-WASH EVER! but seriously it is. I strayed away from it once to try the ever famous Tressame Naturals....never again. This conditioner has AMAZING slip, moisturizes great and smells like Hawaii.

Shea butter: My sealant for braid outs and twist outs. Provides decent hold.

Ecostyler Olive Oil Gel: I mainly use this for wash and go's (IT IS THE BOMB DIGGITY) but for the colder months I use this for up-do and slicking down my edges.

Green spray bottle filled with water: Daily moisturizing excreta.

Shea moisture Raw Shea butter Moisture Retention Shampoo: (Few what a long name lol): this is great if I want clean but not stripped hair. This shampoo is sulfate free yet lathers as if it contained sulfates.

Paul Mitchell Moisture mist: I use this mist when i fell that my hair needs more than just water. I've had it for a few weeks now and I actually like it. I don't know if I will repurchase because the Shea Moisture hold and shine mist has been calling my name.

Hope you enjoyed, until next time
